* ** Demonstrated knowledge of environmental, safety and/or health requirements/standards.
* Demonstrated experience researching complex environmental, safety and/or health issues.
* Demonstrated experience recognizing and analyzing environmental, safety and/or health issues.
* Demonstrated experience developing solutions, permanent and interim, to environmental, safety and/or health issues.
* Demonstrated experience with National Incident Management System.
** Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*** Investigate environmental, safety and health issues.
* Analyze environmental, safety and health issues and provide solutions and interim measures if needed.
* Provide environmental, safety and health related training.
* Inspect sites for compliance with environmental, safety and health requirements.
* Support the Safety Director in implementing a comprehensive environmental, safety and health program.
* Ability to research and understand unusual and complex environmental, safety and health issues.

Position/

Physical Requirements:

* Climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps with or without reasonable accommodation is required.
* Walking and hiking on steep inclines with or without reasonable accommodation are required.
* Standing for sustained periods with or without reasonable accommodation is required.
* Working outdoors in inclement weather is required.
* Demonstrated ability to lift 20 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
* NC Driver's License is required.

** provides comprehensive human resources and safety services to all divisions throughout the agency. Current staffing is over 2,200 positions, plus seasonal/supplemental staffing. The core services include policy administration, employee relations, staff development, benefits, classification and compensation, recruitment and retention, salary administration, diversity and inclusion, performance management, safety and wellness. The HR office supports the mission of the agency by providing policy interpretation, processes, and staff development opportunities in all aspects of HR.

The HR office strives to create efficient processes and services that utilize technology to enhance the processes and benefits available to employees as well as expand staff development.
