Occupational Therapist K-12 School-Based (Part-Time Contract)

Part-time, flexible hours based on availability

An experienced Occupational Therapist with an active state OT license is needed to support a K-12 school district in Asheboro, NC. This role is designed for a school-based OT who will provide evaluation services and supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) but will not carry an independent caseload. The position supports an existing solo OT, focusing on ensuring quality occupational therapy services for students through collaborative IEP participation and administrative oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for students requiring services
  • Provide supervision and guidance to COTAs to support service delivery and compliance
  • Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborate with educational teams
  • Assist with documentation, progress monitoring, and adherence to state and federal special education regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic techniques tailored to school-age children
Qualifications & Experience
  • Active state Occupational Therapist license required
  • Prior school-based OT experience is mandatory
  • Proven ability to supervise COTAs effectively within a school setting
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education regulations
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at multiple school sites
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
