Overview
This is a full-time, on-site role for a City Attorney based in Asheboro, NC. The City Attorney will provide comprehensive legal counsel to city officials, employees, and departments and represent the city in legal matters.
Responsibilities- Conduct legal research
- Prepare legal documents
- Offer advice on labor and employment law
- Attend council meetings
- Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of the city
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Law, including municipal and governmental law
- Proficiency in Labor and Employment Law, including legal compliance and policies
- Strong skills in Legal Advice and the ability to provide sound guidance to city officials and departments
- Expertise in Research and the ability to analyze legal matters thoroughly
- Effective Negotiation skills for contracts, agreements, and legal resolutions
- Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Experience with public sector or municipal law is preferred but not required
