Job Summary:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and calibration of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and associated equipment and processes used in the manufacturing of tungsten carbide, HSS and ceramic tools, including facility equipment. The job is subject to general work instructions, standardized practices and procedures, and supervision of progress and result. Must follow safety procedures, recommended practices, job safety analysis (JSA), safe work practices, and comply with plant safety programs.

Job Responsibilities:
- Repair equipment in accordance with standard engineering practices and OEM technical manuals. Read schematics and use multi-meter & ammeter; understand 3-phase and single-phase motor control, PLC & Ladder Logic; soldering; power tool usage; welding; threading; and power transmission applications knowledge (gearboxes, sprockets, belts).
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosing, repair and maintenance of all manufacturing and service equipment; identify root causes.
- Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems controls and components. Overhaul/rebuild equipment, including rewiring and replacement of motors, ball-screws, rails and bearings, encoders/resolvers, PCBs, proximity switches, micro switches, relays, and timers; calibrate and test upon completion.
- Work from prints, sketches, schematics, vendor manuals or verbal instructions to maintain equipment in alignment and fit. Perform preventive maintenance including inspection, repair and lubrication of manufacturing and facility equipment following the plant PM program.
- Utilize equipment manuals or verbal instructions to maintain intricate equipment in adjustment, alignment, and fitting. Use basic CNC processing and test equipment to diagnose and correct defective components.
- Review work orders and document completion; calibrate manufacturing equipment and robotics in accordance with OEM guidelines. Interact with staff in all departments and with outside vendors/service engineers. Attend technical training sessions to upgrade skills and knowledge of increasingly complex equipment and processes.
Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates Necessary to Perform the Job at the Minimum Acceptable Level and Preferred:
- Associate degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance and/or related discipline and 3-5 years’ maintenance repair experience in a manufacturing facility is required.
