Position Title: Shipping / Receiving Clerk
Department: Materials
Shift: 1st Shift 7 am - 3 pm with a 20‑minute paid lunch
Job Description and QualificationsJob Summary
Shipping / Receiving clerk has the responsibility for ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly documented and accounted for. The clerk will prepare necessary documentation for shipments in accordance with current laws and regulations, maintain all documentation related to shipments/receipts including production orders while at an outsourcing operation, process incoming deliveries, deliver required items as necessary to their locations, and maintain WPO and 5S activities of the shipping / receiving dock area to control, organize and flow material inbound and outbound for the facility.
EssentialFunctions
Accountability 1: Ensure and promote safe, healthy, and environmentally sound working conditions.
Estimated % of total job time: All the time.
Accountability 2: Manage incoming shipments.
- Process receipts for UPS, outsourcing vendors, and general deliveries
- Receive and unpack inter‑plant deliveries
- Receive packaging materials and put to storage locations
- Receive MODs and move to first manufacturing operation
- Receive reconditioning work, unpack and move to next operation
Estimated % of total job time: 60%
Accountability 3: Manage outgoing shipments.
- Create Bill of Ladings for outgoing shipments as necessary
- Process outgoing shipments in UPS or other related systems, including physically weighing, packaging, sealing, and palletizing boxes for shipments.
- Coordinate/arrange shipments for SOX compliance with Iron Mountain
- Weigh and transport carbide scrap and swarf to Huntsville
- Weigh and transport HSS scrap and coating targets to Kalumetals
Estimated % of total job time: 25%
Accountability 4: Performs other essential functions.
- Monitor / order labels, packaging, and other shipping supplies
- Performs production operations as needed
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring workplace organization programs (5S, WPO, MBS, TPM, ISO compliance and EHS programs) are adhered to for the assigned area
- Load and unload trucks
- Other duties as assigned
- Maintain certifications

Accountability 5: Backup support for shipper functions.
- Perform functions in MRP/ERP system required to process shipments to customer
- Perform job duties in accordance with area work instructions
