Base pay range$45,409.00/yr – $59,031.00/yr
SummaryThis position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs – Veterans Health Administration – Mid‑Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN
6) – Asheville VA Medical Center – Health Administration Service (HAS) – Asheville, NC. It is responsible for the administrative coordination of transportation and patient funds activities pertaining to patient transportation.
To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement – 01/23/2026. Time‑in‑grade requirements apply to current Federal employees who have held a GS grade in the past 52 weeks or former employees applying for reinstatement. For a GS‑6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS‑5 cui. You must provide an SF‑50 that shows autocomplete required time‑in‑grade, or an additional SF‑50 if the most recent one is within the past year.
Specialized experience required:
One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS‑5) in the normal line of progression. This includes thorough knowledge to make sound decisions, identify and utilize appropriate resources,renn handle problems and issues in the VTS program, establish effective working relationships, and understand VA laws, regulations, directives, policies, procedures, performance measures, the Privacy Act of 1974, FOIA, VHA regulations, station directives, Public Laws, state laws, central office directives, and HIPAA regulations.
Ability to communicate clear instructions, produce written correspondence, manage emergency situations, and coordinate patient process and administrative scheduling.
Competencies for this position include:
Attention to Detail, Audit Reporting, and Compliance. Experience may be paid, unpaid, volunteer, or national service, and is credited based on the number of hours per week.
The work is sedentary; some walking and standing may be required. Work occurs in a medical center setting where contact with patients who may have emotional disorders or communicable disease is possible.
