The role of Child and Family Lead Coordinator (CFLC) is a key position in cultivating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for children and their families. Collaborating closely with the CFP Director, the CFLC will contribute significantly to the development and implementation of diverse children's programming and parent/caregiver programs. Additional responsibilities encompass the ability to collaborate and network with other community organizations and foster a sense of community through the creation and implementation of programs such as Playgroups and Open Play.

This role requires leadership within the children s team and programs, with direct reporting to the CFP Director.

Responsibilities
  • Children s Programming:
    • Develop, plan, and execute a diverse range of age-appropriate and enriching activities for children.
    • Manage, coordinate, and facilitate educational workshops, arts and crafts sessions, and interactive events to promote learning and creativity.
    • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all children, adhering to relevant safety guidelines and protocols.
    • Function as the lead coordinator in children and family programs, ensuring activities are prepped and ready for programming.
    • Ensure additional children’s team members are assigned roles for programming.
  • Parent/Caregiver Programs:
    • As needed, organize and oversee family programming that provides a supportive space for parents/caregivers to connect and share experiences.
    • Model positive parenting/caregiver techniques and language.
    • Plan activities that encourage parent-child interaction, bonding, and socialization within the playgroup setting.
    • Offer resources and information to parents/caregivers on child development, parenting strategies, and community services.
  • Collaboration and Networking:
    • Establish and nurture positive relationships with local community organizations, schools, and businesses to enhance program offerings.
    • Collaborate with other professionals, including educators, healthcare providers, and social workers, to create a comprehensive support network for families.
    • Collaborate with other organizations to utilize outside resources to enhance programming.
  • Communication:
    • Effectively communicate program details, updates, and relevant information to both parents/caregivers and children.
    • Respond to inquiries and feedback from families in a timely and professional manner.
    • Meet weekly with CFPD or as needed.
    • Coordinate and communicate regarding family and children’s team members’ schedules.
  • Evaluation and Assessment:
    • Regularly assess the effectiveness of children s and family programming through feedback, observation, and evaluation tools.
    • Make adjustments and improvements to ensure ongoing quality, relevance and effectiveness.
    • Responsible for data entry and outcome reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in planning and managing and implementing children's programs.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and family dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services.
  • Working environment will include a blend of indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Travel between locations is as permitted or required.
  • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
