We are seeking an experienced Excavation Foreman to oversee excavation crews and ensure the successful completion of sitework and earthmoving operations.

Position Summary

The Excavation Foreman will be responsible for supervising excavation crews, coordinating equipment and materials, and ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and to specification. This role requires strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of excavation practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead excavation crews on civil construction projects
  • Interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Schedule and coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower for daily activities
  • Monitor progress and adjust work plans to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Enforce safety policies and conduct daily safety briefings
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors
  • Troubleshoot issues in the field and provide practical solutions
  • Track and report production, hours, and project updates
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of excavation experience in civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operations, soil types, and grading practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction documents
  • Proven leadership and crew management skills
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required
