Description
Mission Hospital, located in Asheville, North Carolina, is excited to welcome a seasoned/experienced acute care surgery Medical Director to our busy program. Our Trauma center is currently ACS level II, and we have completed a level I consultation visit.

Job SummaryWe are looking for a qualified Medical Director with leadership experience in a trauma center setting.
Qualified Candidates- Board certified in General Surgery
- Board certified in Surgical Critical Care
- ATLS certification
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Must have experience as Medical Director or Associate Medical Director in a Level I or II Trauma Center
- Willingness to perform in a hybrid role with minimum 40% administrative duties/responsibilities
- Please note that this position does not offer visa support
- Team covers equal mix of trauma, surgical critical care and emergency general surgery
- No 24‑hour shift requirement; day shifts are 10.5 hours; nights are 13.5
- Large, stable and established group; worked together for many years;
Minimal turnover - Close team collaboration, support and coverage including time‑offiverequests
- Surgical residency offers opportunity to teach
- Resident support on trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery services
- APP support on trauma and emergency general surgery service
- Research support offered locally and through HCA's National Center Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Research
- This is an employed position with HCA Healthcare
