Pay Range: State Salary Schedule + [10.5% - 18% local supplement]
Minimum Degree Level: 1. A valid N.C. teaching certificate with certification in special education.
2. Minimum of 5 years successful special education teaching experience.
3. Competency with a variety of instructional strategies.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position

Purpose:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Services, to provide support for the Exceptional Children program and maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by implementing district-approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
