Job Type: Full-time

The NC Pre‑K Lead teacher assumes primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record‑keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to the teacher’s assistant.

• Writes and implements daily/weekly lesson plans for children in classroom that are developmentally appropriate for the children in care.
• Ensures that children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through close visual supervision and observation of group and one‑on‑one interactions with individual children.
• Assists the Director in devising service plans for children with special needs.
• Ensures that necessary classroom records/documents are kept current, organized, and on file.
• Communicates with administrative staff to ensure that licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the classroom.
• Provides leadership by acting as positive, motivating role model for teacher and teacher’s assistant and creates professional climate for carrying out the daily operations of the classroom.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of completion of Early Childhood Credential I and II plus completion of or currently enrolled in 9 additional credit hours in Child Development or related field from a community college or university.

At least one year working in a preschool classroom at a licensed center.

Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and be insurable by Eliada’s insurance carriers. The position requires excellent verbal and writing skills for communicating effectively and professionally with co‑workers, parents, and other visitors.
