Industrial Engineering Specialist is responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The role functions with some autonomy but is guided by established policies or review of end results and allows modification of procedures and practices covering work if the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Organize and lead projects related to new premises, factory buildings, rehabilitation, new equipment, layout, renovations and optimization. Manage capital investments. Includes Advanced Manufacturing Engineers, New product introduction (NPI) and NPI Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Develop advanced competency in a wide range of Industrial Engineering Methods and Lean tools, and coach associates in the use and implementation of FLIGHT DECK/LEAN principles and behaviors.
  • Improve workflow by studying process flow charts, recommending modifications in workflow and workstations, and developing new procedures.
  • Develop and manage the industrial project timeline and ensure the tasks are accomplished timely.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others.
  • Use technical skills and analytical thinking to align and work with cross‑functional teams to solve complex problems.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explain information; develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within the field. Convey performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Support all shifts as needed.
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high‑school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Lean and/or Industrial Engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of and experience applying FLIGHT DECK/LEAN in transactional and shop‑floor situations (standardised work, material & information flows, level production and pull systems).
