ThePosition
The Accounting Manager – Cash and Debt oversees the company’s cash and debt management and supervises the accountant responsible for the Fixed Asset ledger. This role also supports monthly financial closings and assists auditors as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the Company's Debt. Handle complex debt instruments, record transactions, amortization schedules, interest accruals, and ensure compliance with debt covenants and accounting standards.
- Oversee the Cash Management Department, which includes monitoring the bank reconciliation process, cash position for Corporate as well as at Store level.
- Supervise the maintenance of the company’s Fixed Asset ledger, which includes ensuring proper coding of all capitalizable invoices; posting monthly depreciation for all applicable company codes; processing disposals; providing feedback to Controller and CFO on any depreciation expense fluctuations; processing semi-annual retirements; preparing and recording all property acquisitions; preparing quarterly asset roll-forward reporting; and prepare quarterly and yearly property schedules.
- Prepare and review journal entries before closing at the end of each month.
- GL reconciliations each month or quarter, as applicable, providing reporting where necessary.
- Gather applicable data and prepare miscellaneous reports for management, ensuring proper data analysis.
- Work with internal and external auditors as assigned.
- Continuously evaluate the control environment and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Manage team members through hiring, coaching, resource planning/prioritization, career planning and development, and overall performance management.
- Observe all company rules and policies.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
- Minimum of 10 Hours of CPE credits per fiscal year.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
- CPA License, preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and debt management or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in Management required.
- SAP experience preferred.
- High degree of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments by stated deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Must be able to work as a team and independently with high self-motivation and discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using a computer and related office equipment.
- Ability to create reports and execute presentations.
- Must be able to adapt to changing needs, especially during times of high volume and/or stress.
