Job Description

The starting pay range for this position begins at $19.44/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Full Time: a position working 35+ hours per week. The Inn Housekeeping Supervisor will assist in the daily supervision of employees, inspect work to ensure that Forbes and Inn on Biltmore Estate quality standards are exceeded in the guest rooms and other public spaces.

The Supervisor will maintain daily paperwork and administrative tasks; lead spot inspections and quality‑control activities; assist in the selection, hiring and training of staff; provide support with staff development, performance management, and employee satisfaction initiatives. General assistance and support for the department, leadership team and the company as required.

Schedule

Requires ability to work 1st and 2nd shift. Hours vary but generally will fall into the range of 8A - 4:30P, 7A - 3:30P, or 2:30P - 11:00P.

Essential

Job Duties
  • Directly supervises Housekeeping line staff on a daily basis.
  • Ensures room cleanliness standards; performs room inspections; provides feedback and coaching to associates.
  • Manages and oversees clean and orderly hallways, public areas, and storage areas.
  • Provides employees with the proper supplies needed to perform their duties.
  • Assists with selection, hiring and training; develops staff as assigned.
  • Works cohesively with co‑workers as part of an effective team.
  • Provides final check of guest rooms before guest check‑ins.
  • Follows through and ensures guest requests and satisfaction; logs any work orders for repairs.
  • Assists with performance management, counseling/disciplinary measures; facilitates staff communications, teamwork, conflict resolution, productivity and motivation.
  • Strives to maintain personal, staff and guest safety and security at all times.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs duties of Housekeeping Services or Room Attendant as needed.
  • Prepares proper weekly inventory of supplies.
  • Provides general assistance and support for the department, company, and leadership.
  • Position may be scheduled for either first or second shifts based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or GED). Additional education, training, or certification preferred.
  • Two (2) years related experience in upscale/luxury hotel or resort or similar environment.
  • Solid knowledge of four/five star service and quality standards; inventory control techniques a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world‑class guest service; proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills; proficient in English; other language a plus.
  • Must be able to handle a variety of guest service situations professionally.
  • Proactive, initiative, problem‑solving, keen attention to detail, exceeds guest expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
  • Professional, high ethical standards; reflects company core values.
Physical Requirements

This position will require a physical exam at the Biltmore Clinic prior to starting work. An offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of this examination.

  • Work in a guest contact environment.
  • Lift, pull, push 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Stand for extended periods; may kneel, reach overhead, bend/stoop as needed.
  • Operate small commercial cleaning equipment (vacuums, etc.).
  • May be exposed to fumes, particulates, chemicals, and/or fluctuations in temperature and conditions.
