Overview

Energy Savers Network (ESN) is a non-profit program with the goal of helping the City of Asheville and Buncombe County reach 100% renewable energy by 2042. We have served over 1,000 homes and are funded by private donations, Duke Energy, grants, and the work of our volunteer corps.

• Volunteer to weatherize low-income homes in Buncombe County, NC, using basic tools.
• Perform energy-efficiency upgrades such as replacing light bulbs, adding water aerators to sinks, caulking and weather-stripping to seal windows and doors, insulating water heaters and pipes, and adding window inserts.
• Support and learn with a team during volunteer work days, typically on Tuesdays to Fridays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and one Saturday per month (up to 4 volunteers per day).

• Enthusiastic individuals who are comfortable with learning to use basic tools.
• Willingness to participate on scheduled volunteer work days (Tue–Fri 11:00–15:00; one Saturday per month).
• Open to students, church members, businesses, and carpenters from construction companies.
