  • Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), 9 beds
  • Self-scheduling and flexible scheduling options available
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680
PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PICU RN experience required
  • Ability to float to Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed
  • Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
  • Must follow hospital dress code: navy blue or white scrubs (navy pants and white tops acceptable)
PICU RN Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Manage patient assignments with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Perform IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar puncture assistance, central line dressing changes, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Provide tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and ventilator management
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
  • Participate in self-scheduling and work at least 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule
  • Float to Pediatric and NICU units as needed to support clinical operations
