American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a high-volume Level II trauma center on a night shift schedule requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Required certifications before start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
  • 101-bed Emergency Care Center within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center hospital
  • High-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits
  • Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Techs available for cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerk support
  • Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Documentation via Cerner EMR
  • Night shift schedule, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend scheduling required, block scheduling not available
  • No floating outside the ED, but must be flexible to float to all sections within the ED
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Provide direct patient care across all sections of the Emergency Department
  • Deliver care in line with AIDET and patient experience standards, including updated patient boards and regular communication
  • Work within a team known for strong collaboration and welcoming culture
  • Serve a multicultural community reflecting over 120 languages spoken in the area
  • Navy scrub dress code required
  • Attendance policy provided on first day
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
