WANT A FUN JOB IN THE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE INDUSTRY?

French Broad Adventures is hiring all staff for the upcoming 2024 season. We operate adventures outside Asheville, Marshall, and Hot Springs, NC, including whitewater rafting, zipline canopy tours, canyoneering, and calm water trips.

The mission of French Broad Adventures is to combine experienced guides, excellent customer service, and exceptional outdoor adventures to create unforgettable memories for our guests. Our main season runs from mid-May through September. This is a seasonal position. Experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidates.

Training for inexperienced guides will be held the last weekend in April and the first three weekends in May, offered through Asheville-Buncombe Community College at a refundable cost of $400, provided all commitments are met.

The Whitewater Rafting Professional Guide Course is a two-day training in conjunction with ABTECH, covering river reading, safety, paddling techniques, and more. It is designed for those interested in learning the skills to safely paddle Class I-IV rapids and work with guests.

Join our team of adventure-loving outdoor enthusiasts and spend the summer whitewater rafting on the beautiful French Broad River!

Search for Whitewater Rafting Guide or SEF-WT. The course runs on Saturdays and Sundays, from April 27 to May 19, 8:30 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m., at our Marshall Outpost, RM 112.

Fees: $400.00 for the course. To qualify as a Raft Guide, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Maintain current First Aid/Basic CPR/AED certification
  • Complete FBA Raft Guide training and check-out
  • Work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Have enthusiasm for outdoor activities and good judgment
  • Be comfortable speaking to large groups and willing to work weekends and holidays
