Bus Company Holdings US, LLC (dba Coach USA), a motorcoach transportation company, seeks a full‑time Director of Operations to oversee all activities at the Asheville location. The Director will coordinate daily operations with drivers and dispatch personnel, manage budgets, and implement procedures to achieve operational efficiency. Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate has supervisory experience in transit, strong budgeting skills, and a growth‑oriented leadership style.
Responsibilities- Interface with customers and Coach USA staff (dispatchers/drivers)
- Be knowledgeable of all gates and routes
- Communicate with central dispatch as necessary
- Ensure employees follow proper policies and procedures
- Maintain operational budgetary requirements and apply solid business principles
- Review paperwork submitted by drivers to verify pay and billing data
- Audit all operational documentation, including work tickets against dispatch day sheets/schedules
- Review and adjust schedules to ensure efficiency and vehicle/operator availability
- Assign operators and vehicles to routes and schedules, coordinating last‑minute changes as needed
- Forward safety items to the Maintenance Department
- Recommend and process disciplinary action when appropriate, reporting to the General Manager
- Respond to customer problems and complaints, taking action or coordinating with others to provide solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently or in a group setting
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
- Applicable computer experience and skills
- Ability to determine vehicle travel paths for safe, timely passenger transport
- Ability to evaluate and respond to safety‑risk situations
- Knowledge of current traffic and driver safety regulations and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and policies
- Understanding of public transit routes/schedules
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment
- CDL preferred but not required
