Engage Education is recruiting a Student Behaviour & Engagement Officer for a secondary school in Ashford, Surrey, starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced school environment and has the confidence to support students with behaviour, attendance, and engagement. You’ll play a key role in promoting high standards across the school while supporting students to make positive choices and succeed both academically and personally.
The RoleAs a Student Behaviour & Engagement Officer, you will:
- Support students whose behaviour or attendance is impacting their progress.
- Work proactively with pupils to improve engagement, punctuality and readiness to learn.
- Monitor students throughout the school day, providing guidance and intervention where required.
- Assist in managing the school’s behaviour systems and ensuring expectations are consistently upheld.
- Work alongside teachers, Heads of Year and the pastoral team to deliver targeted interventions.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
- Record behaviour incidents and contribute to student support plans and progress reviews.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, the police, armed forces, or a similar role.
- Has excellent behaviour management and can confidently de-escalate challenging situations.
- Is calm, resilient, and able to remain professional under pressure.
- Has strong communication and organisational skills.
- Can motivate students and encourage positive behaviour through consistency and encouragement.
- Is passionate about improving outcomes for young people.
- Full-time position starting September 2026.
