Finance Manager

Finance Manager Stevenage £45,000 to £50,000 Permanent Office Based We are recruiting for an established and growing SME in the Stevenage area looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to take responsibility for its day-to-day finance function. This is a varied, hands-on opportunity where youll work closely with senior management, oversee a small finance team and take responsibility for producing accurate and useful financial information to support the business.

It would suit someone who enjoys the variety of an SME environment and is comfortable moving between management accounts, financial control and the practical day-to-day requirements of running a finance function. The role will involve:
Preparing monthly management accounts and financial information Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning Managing month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations Overseeing VAT and CIS requirements Supporting financial activity across more than one business entity Maintaining strong financial controls and accurate accounting records Overseeing transactional finance and supporting the wider finance team Liaising with external professional advisers when required Reviewing existing processes and identifying practical improvements Working closely with senior management as a key finance contact We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Finance Managers who have worked within construction or a related environment and have practical knowledge of CIS.

You do not need to be fully qualified. Strong hands-on experience, commercial awareness and the ability to build good relationships across a business are more important. The opportunity could also suit an experienced Financial Controller, Company Accountant or Senior Management Accountant looking for a broad SME position with plenty of responsibility. The business is continuing to develop, so the incoming Finance Manager will be joining at a good time to make the role their own and contribute as the organisation grows.
