Mental Health Associate

Oak Plains Academy, a Universal Health Services (UHS) company, is hiring a Mental Health Associate to provide direct patient care for adolescent residents in a 98‑bed residential treatment program.

• Follow program schedule and milieu with minimal supervision.
• Ensure residents comply with program rules and guidelines.
• Promote residents’ development and safety.
• Remain alert to anticipate potentially unsafe situations.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation of resident behavior.
• Attend and complete all scheduled in‑services and trainings.
• Alert supervisors to risk management and quality concerns.

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum:
  High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of experience in mental health with demonstrable competence.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license in good standing (military candidates exempt).
• Physical capacity to walk, run, stand, lift, and perform irregular hours with protective restraints.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime as needed.

Shifts:

8‑hour and 12‑hour shifts (Day 6 AM–6 PM, Night 6 PM–6 AM, Evening 3 PM–11 PM, Night 11 PM–7 AM).

Compensation ranges from $15.44 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience, education, and military service.

Shift differential: $4.00 per hour on weekends, $2.00–$3.00 during the week, with frequent overtime opportunities.
