A.O. Smith is a global leader in innovative, energy‑efficient solutions for water heating and treatment equipment. This position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and supports a global portfolio of operations.

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will implement, oversee, and adapt policies and programs to improve the organization’s environmental and safety performance, ensure compliance with current and future regulations, and protect its reputation. The role provides leadership by developing strategies for effective environmental, health, safety, and security programs for the facility.

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related EHS field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Leadership experience or demonstrated leadership capability through projects.
• License expected.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Experience leading larger‑scope EHSS projects or projects across multiple plants.
• Guidance of less experienced EHSS professionals.
• Excellent general problem‑solving skills.
• Current knowledge of all applicable regulations (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.) and the ability to interpret them to ensure compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Managing EHS activities for a plant or multiple locations.
• Managing or supervising a small group of employees or indirectly managing employees across multiple sites.
