About Oak Plains AcademyOak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98‑bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive individualized treatment plans geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serves hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency.
Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, the campus features a full‑size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories. The wooded campus provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, softball, and basketball.

- Renders professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs. Practices ongoing patient assessment, evaluation and updating of patient care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicates pertinent data to other service areas as needed. Administers medications appropriately and documents all data accurately according to facility policy. Participates in formulation of individual care plans for all patients and implements plan according to facility policy.
- Performs proper HWC techniques, demonstrating knowledge of patient and staff safety. Completes debriefings as indicated.

- Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed (or license‑eligible) in the State of Tennessee.
- Preferred experience with children/adolescents.
- Preferred experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
- 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
