Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – PRN – Ashland City, TN – Oak Plains Academy
Oak Plains Academy is a 98‑bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents. The professional team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses and teachers. The campus features a gymnasium, dining hall, academic building and four dormitories on 20 acres of rolling hills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities- The LPN/LVN performs routine health maintenance, medication administration, medical record documentation and assists physicians and other health care personnel in the therapeutic milieu. Serves as a role model to staff and students in dress and demeanor.
- Performs proper HWC techniques and demonstrates knowledge of patient and staff safety. Completes debriefings as indicated.
- Renders professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs. Practices ongoing patient assessment, evaluation and update of patient care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicates pertinent data to other service areas as needed. Administers medications appropriately and documents all data accurately according to facility policy. Participates in formulation of individual care plans for all patients and implements plan according to facility policy.

- Current license to practice nursing in Tennessee.
- Current BLS certification (upon hire and kept current).
- Preferred experience working with children/adolescents.
- Preferred experience working in a psychiatric residential setting.
