Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is seeking a cashier to perform retail sales functions. The role involves accepting merchandise donations, selecting and pricing donated goods, operating the cash register, and providing excellent customer service.

• Provide friendly customer service, greeting and assisting customers.
• Operate cash register accurately and efficiently (correct change, receipts, checks, charges, and discounts).
• Price merchandise according to prescribed criteria.
• Inspect donated goods (textiles, furniture, appliances, small household wares, novelty items, books, toys, decorations, sporting goods) for saleability.
• Receive and handle donated goods from donors.
• Perform stock duties: sorting, hanging garments, stocking shelves, maintaining displays, and updating pulling system.
• Ensure Goodwill quality‑control standards are met (textiles, miscellaneous items, furniture).
• Test electrical appliances for safe operation.
• Disinfect upholstered materials using Steri‑Fab.
• Prepare textiles and goods for resale.
• Maintain premises in compliance with agency safety and housekeeping practices.
• Prepare and submit reports (donation counts, daily business statements, deposits, cash drawer).
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Manager, Assistant, or Supervisor.
• Load and sort materials on trailer according to instructions.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience in retail sales, cashiering, customer service, and shipping/receiving preferred. Box truck experience preferred.

• Pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
• Perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• Work effectively as a team member and independently.
• Accept and load donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, and other household goods.
• Sort and pack donated items to secure them.
• Maintain records and reports of donations.

Regularly stand, walk, use hands and reach; lift and/or move 10 lbs, often 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Employee works in moderate noise levels, occasionally outside in weather conditions, and may be exposed to electrical shock risk.
