Natural Resources Technician Supervisor – Mohican State Park (Job #)

Location:

Mohican State Park, 3116 State Route 3, Loudonville, OH 44842 (Ashland County)

• Supervises personnel performing unskilled & semi-skilled labor and maintenance of indoor/outdoor facilities, grounds & equipment, including groundskeeping, landscaping, building maintenance, electrical, heating/cooling, water distribution, equipment, plumbing, swimming pool maintenance, vehicle & equipment maintenance, construction & repair, river maintenance, plowing, carpentry projects, trash & litter removal at Mohican State Park.
• Coaches & develops staff and implements safety training programs for maintenance & grounds employees.
• Plans work schedules, recommends & coordinates work projects.
• Instructs crews on maintenance projects.
• Partners with supporting other parks (Malabar) and State Park Lodge.
• Reads & interprets manuals, blueprints, schematics, analyzes technical problems & provides solutions.
• Starts at an hourly pay of $26.92/hr with increases over the first 4.5 years of service, ending at $33.35/hr.
• May have COLA applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after 5 years of state service per Exempt Employees pay range schedule.

• 18 months training or 18 months experience in skilled & semi-skilled maintenance trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
• 18 months training or 18 months experience in use of shop hand & power tools.
• 18 months training or 18 months experience in public or commercial maintenance, equipment operations & associated safety practices.
• 3 months training or experience in record keeping.
• 6 months training or experience in supervisory principles/techniques.
• 6 months training or experience in employee training & development.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Or 6 months experience as a Natural Resources Technician 3, 22623.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Hourly pay: $26.92 starting, with increases to $33.35 over first 4.5 years. COLA may apply. Longevity pay supplements after 5 years of state service.

Work schedule:

Full‑time, variable hours.

Work location:

DNR Ashland (Ashland County), also service may be performed at nearby Perrysville site.
