Job SummaryThe AHS Athletic Coordinator will provide overall leadership, supervision and coordination of all sports programs to provide students with worthwhile learning experiences.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
General Duties- Be responsible to the building principal.
- Make recommendations concerning the school in matters of finances, policies, coaching personnel, new facilities, and modification of existing facilities.
- Arrange for the availability of equipment necessary for the administration of contests.
- Be responsible for recruiting supplemental personnel to game officials who are necessary for various games and meets.
- Authorize the expenditure of non-bid equipment and supply item funds through the building principal.
- Establish a practice time schedule when there is a multi-use of facilities.
- Attend OSAA Athletic Director meetings and schedule interscholastic athletic contests.
- Collaborate with and support non-athletic extra-curricular activities advisors and their programs.
- Assume responsibility for evaluation of all coaches in the school building in conjunction with Principal and head coach of the respective sport.
- Update and manage the Family
ID program for online registration, clear registered students for participation, create team lists for coaches in Family
ID and authorize users. - Communicate via Thrillshare or direct email with all parents, keeping them informed about season dates, registration deadlines, etc.
- Bill and collect the $50.00 per sport levy fee for students who live outside the district boundary.
- Supervise home athletic contests and be responsible in case of spectator problems, game difficulties, or injury emergencies.
- Arrange for game officials for all high school contests.
- Work with the ASD Transportation Department to schedule bus transportation to/from all away games.
- Work with the coaches on distribution of jerseys and equipment for students. Track all teams by student for checkout and return of uniforms, and report missing or damaged items to the Office Manager to charge fines to the student account.
- Maintain coaching binders with up-to-date rosters, emergency lists, accident reports, and the OSAA bylaws for each sport.
- Provide coordination of facility usage for intramurals in conjunction with interscholastic program.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
- Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due date.

Supervise coaches and others involved in high school athletic programs. All District employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.

- Valid Oregon teacher or administrator licensure.
- Valid Oregon Driver's license required.
- Previous experience as a coach desired.
- Knowledge of the overall operation of the athletic program.
