WHAT WILL I BE DOING?- Field observations at jobsites in the Ashland, VA region.
- Sampling and testing of construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel.
- Preparing accurate daily logs of inspections and test results.
- Daily communication with the project manager or operations manager regarding project progress.
- Reliable vehicle for field work, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 60‑80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, other equipment).
- Ability to work in all outdoor climates and across various terrain.
- Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to all safety requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Use of company's provided tablet and working knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Ability to perform basic math and use measurement tools.
- With training, ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Hiring preference will be given to experienced technicians with verifiable certifications such as ACI, NICET, WACEL, etc. EE/Minorities and Women encouraged to apply.
