Construction Material Field Technician

• Field observations at jobsites in the Ashland, VA region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel.
• Preparing accurate daily logs of inspections and test results.
• Daily communication with the project manager or operations manager regarding project progress.

• Reliable vehicle for field work, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60‑80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, other equipment).
• Ability to work in all outdoor climates and across various terrain.
• Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to all safety requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Use of company's provided tablet and working knowledge of MS Office programs.
• Ability to perform basic math and use measurement tools.
• With training, ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
