Project Manufacturing Engineer - Ashland, VA

Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer for Lutron based out of the Virginia Manufacturing Facility, you will take ownership of high-stakes projects from day one. You will be a key part of the mechanical engineering team and grow your skills while developing innovative solutions. Your contributions will help to maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems.

You will be responsible for all phases of the design process, including

• Generating detailed designs for review
• Conducting analysis through prototyping, testing and qualification
• Ensuring designs are suited for high-volume manufacturability

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be focused on improving the manufacturing process by:

• Analyzing the performance of current manufacturing tools and processes to determine methods to improve safety, reliability and efficiency
• Engaging with new product design teams to develop manufacturing tools to meet the unique needs of the new product launches
• Collaborating with peers across North America to align processes between facilities and establishing the best tooling practices
• Developing electro-mechanical systems capable of solving complex problems
• Driving automation of error proofing through customized solutions

We seek talented, success-minded people with the desire and ability to make things happen. Our baseline requirements are simple:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
• Electrical and software development experience for tooling is a benefit
• Creo 3D CAD Modeling or equivalent experience preferred
• Fabrication knowledge and experience preferred
• You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for any Manufacturing Engineer related positions.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned
• 0-3 years of experience in a related field
