PositionSummary
The Fire Alarm Field Superintendent leads and executes fire alarm installations, directing field work through project completion. This role ensures schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Field Superintendent performs installation and service work as needed, oversees quality control for installation, testing, and commissioning, and keeps the Project Manager informed of project status.
This position requires adherence to company processes and accountability for achieving project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Management/responsibility of field installations, including direct labor, materials, and expenses.
- Represent Marmic in field site meetings.
- Maintain the necessary equipment and material to effectively perform work with no lost time.
- Fully understand, follow, and communicate contractual scope.
- Identify out of scope work.
- Communicate potential scope changes to PM/Sales.
- Effectively deliver scope to technicians and subcontractors.
- Documentation and communication.
- Technical writing ability to effectively communicate to clients, managers and technicians.
- On‑time completion and storing of daily logs.
- Execute close‑out documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain weekly updated redline drawings.
- Maintain a team environment with positive communication to field technicians to ensure commitment to safety, integrity, growth, and professionalism.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fire alarms or special hazards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and be familiar with installation techniques of electrical and mechanical portions of a project.
- Ability to travel; potential for extended periods of time.
- Basic understanding of financial principles relative to operations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
- Ability to sit long periods of time at a desk and work on a computer.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools more than 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, high‑lift equipment, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certification in NICET Level II in Fire Alarms.
