General Summary
The Pharmacy Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operations of the pharmacy. This position serves as "responsible pharmacist" for the site according to the laws and regulations of the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. This position is responsible for assuring compliance with State, Federal, AOA and JCAHO rules, regulation and standards for handling medications in the institution.
This position actively participates in facility, regional and system operations, collaborates with other disciplines and assists in development and implementation of action plans to assure effective and efficient operations. Responsibility for business development and expense control of Inpatient Pharmacy, ACMC Outpatient Pharmacy, Meds to Beds, Glenbeigh Pharmacy, Oncology Pharmacy and 340b.
- Education
- BS in Pharmacy and MBA, or Pharm.
D - Required Length and Type of Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience
- Experience with hospital pharmacy information system(s) and automation, preferred EPIC
- Must have effective writing and communication skills
- Must be self-directed and motivated
- Strong customer service and team orientation
- Proficient in Windows PC operation and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in health care to include business development/marketing, expense control, physician relations, 340b, USP Regulations, Joint Commission and State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy Regulations
- Required Licensure or Certification
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Ohio or Board Eligible
