Assistant Plant Manager – Plastpro,Inc

Summary

Assists plant manager in organizing and managing day-to-day activities for plant operations to ensure efficient production of quality products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of workers in achieving daily production and shipping goals. Provide training and guidance to workers to meet performance standards.
  • Determine resource requirements, work allocation and production deadlines to achieve production objectives.
  • Ensure materials, supplies and equipment are readily and continuously available for workers to carry out production process.
  • Coordinate with Plant Manager in resolving plant issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all plant related activities.
  • Implement continuous plant improvements for increased productivity and scrap reduction.
  • Optimize plant operations to meet quality and production standards.
  • Schedule routine inspection and maintenance of equipment to prevent machine downtime.
  • Maintain work area clean, safe and organized for workers.
  • Ensure plant compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Perform special projects and other job-related duties as directed by the Plant Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervision is exercised over assigned Plant employees, both directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors. Works under Company policies and procedures on a day-to-day basis with limited supervision.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience documented and accepted by Plastpro Inc.
  • Four (4) years in a production plant, with supervisory experience, people skills, ability to manage a complex working environment.
Computer Skills

Possess basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and schematics. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to identify trends and develop action plans to address issues.
