Store Manager at Save A Lot Grocery
LocationAshtabula, OH
OverviewA store manager plans, directs and controls the operation of the store and supervises all employees to control production, inventory, merchandising, losses, gross and net profit and hours of work in all departments. They supervise the ordering of product to fill the store, support sales plans, and maximize sales, in addition to ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. They are responsible for all hiring, firing, promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions for all employees.
Responsibilities- Work your required schedule to maintain store conditions and profitability.
- Possess good interpersonal skills, be mature and a proven leader.
- Read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Develop and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Be a self‑starter.
- Travel to & from work up to a max drive time of 1 hr 15 min.
- Give verbal & written instructions.
- Read and interpret financial statements, including profit and loss, and set objectives to overcome deficiencies.
- Operate all equipment in the store.
- Able to open and close cash office, set up cash register drawer, balance store cash, maintain contact, and record daily cash office records.
- Provide verbal and written direction to employees.
- Supervise the recruiting and training of employees.
- Conduct meetings to communicate business results and direction to employees.
- Operate telephones and intercoms; computer systems knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Write work schedules within the store budget and complete weekly store reports.
- Deal effectively with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees and (where necessary) employee representatives.
- Discipline employees according to company policy when necessary.
- Establish, interpret and administer rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- Have extensive knowledge of and/or be able to perform the duties of the employees in his or her store.
- Maintain a labor, productive and profitable operation within the location you are managing.
