Description
The Percussion Crew at the Aspen Music Festival & School (AMFS) assists AMFS percussion students, faculty, and guest artists with percussion and backline needs throughout the season’s duration. This position works closely with production staff members on the Bucksbaum Campus and Meadows Campus, aiding in backstage organization of percussion and onstage setups. The Percussion Crew reports to the Percussion Manager. There are multiple positions available in this role.
Responsibilities- Move and setup equipment for all music festival events and locations requiring percussion instruments, including practice rooms, studios, rehearsal and performance spaces.
- Maintain in good working order, the inventory of all percussion instruments owned and rented by the festival.
- Oversee the movement of instruments between venues, including the Bucksbaum Campus, Meadows Campus and various offsite performance locations, driving a box truck for instrument transportation between venue locations.
- Frequent nighttime and weekend work to be expected.
- Strong familiarity of standard and non-standard orchestral repertoire and the percussion instruments and performance techniques required.
- Knowledge of how to appropriately move and assemble percussion equipment.
- Experience in minor repair of percussion is preferred.
- Candidate must be open and flexible, with a sensitivity to the needs of the many various personalities within the festival.
- Candidate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and materials or, of greater weight in tandem with additional crew member assistance.
- Candidates must be comfortable driving and operating a box truck.
- This position requires a valid drivers’ license and clean driving record. A DMV check will be conducted for the candidates hired.

Compensation$15.16/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $5.16/hour depending on location.) Overtime $22.74/hour
