Colorado Mountain College invites applications for the Adjunct Faculty, Non-Credit, Health and Wellness role.
Primary Responsibility
The adjunct faculty members assist students in their learning process by utilizing appropriate staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available. Faculty are committed to facilitating learning throughout our communities. Teaching is the most important role, but faculty also engage in scholarly endeavors and service activities.
Pre-requisites For Position (Qualifications Standards)
Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in the specific program or eligible to be credentialed. Ideal qualifications include:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in a related field or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
- Minimum of one-year full‑time teaching experience, or equivalent as an adjunct instructor; higher education teaching experience preferred.
- An equivalent or applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience of at least two years.
- Strong background in computers and technology, excellent organizational and general office skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, ability to research and analyze data, work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
Essential Duties
The following responsibilities maintain consistency and align with evaluation and promotion procedures.
- Teach assigned courses, evaluate courses and assess student learning.
- Maintain course records, prepare lesson plans and syllabi, develop measurable course objectives.
- Engage with students, maintain office hours, assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
- Participate in scholarly and creative activities, service activities such as committees, projects, mentoring, assessment, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.
- Represent the college professionally and promote a positive public image.
- Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
Supervisory and Working Conditions
The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction and may supervise student employees. It requires occasional travel, evening and/or weekend hours, and adherence to safety and compliance policies.
