Description

The Aspen Music Festival & School (AMFS) Lead Ushers are part of the Front of House (FOH) team, which is responsible for all FOH operations from arrival to the end of each concert, ensuring exemplary customer service and safety to all AMFS patrons. The FOH team is a team of eight, led by the Front of House & Venue Operations Manager and Assistant Front of House Manager, and is present for all open concerts, rehearsals and events which occur at the festival's main performance venues in Aspen, Colorado.

These facilities include our 2050-seat Klein Music Tent and the 500-seat Harris Concert Hall. Additionally, the FOH team is involved in events in the local Aspen Community, including recitals at Aspen Chapel, Aspen Center for Physics, Pitkin County Library, and more.

• Assist in scanning tickets, greeting and guiding patrons to their correct seats, while properly addressing audience conflict or misconduct and issues regarding safety of our patrons.
• Help prepare each venue before every event by stocking program books and properly preparing each entry point.
• Attend pre-event meetings with front of house staff about each event’s program and procedures.
• Notify and assist the House Managers with any issues that arise relating to seating or the Front of House in a professional and service-driven manner.
• Assist in the management of parking operations on the Meadows Campus during AMFS open events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In this role, there are four positions available for the summer of 2026.

• Must possess an outgoing demeanor with strong customer service skills.
• Familiarity with classical music and orchestral practices is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to prioritize well and complete multiple tasks quickly, efficiently, and calmly.
• A humble and durable sense of humor is strongly advised.

June 22, 2026-August 23, 2026

$22.00/hour if you provide your own housing. Overtime $33.00/hour.

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.

OR

$14.81/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $5.16/hour depending on location.) Overtime $22.74/hour

The overall non-local compensation for this position, including hourly pay ($14.81/hour) and housing ($5.16/hour), exceeds the 2026 Colorado minimum wage of $15.16.
