Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. A minimum of a High School Diploma and three years of related experience or equivalent education (in lieu of 3-year experience would possess a college-issued certificate of proficiency or higher in relevant healthcare-related course study, e.g., COP in EMS or higher) and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position required.
State of Colorado EMT-B Certificate and competency in all BLS skills required (or a current NREMT certification that enables state certification).
Additional qualifications including an AHA BLS Instructor, Wilderness EMT Upgrade, AEMT or paramedic preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations. Effective communication skills in person, via telephone, and radio, with competency in emergency communication language, protocol, and procedure. Ability to operate relevant medical equipment and work effectively with staff, faculty, and students as a team.

Compensation and Benefits: The hiring pay rate is $23.79 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick leave, mental health resources, and tuition benefits. The wage is commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
Employment Type: This is a part-time position limited to 28 hours per week, with a schedule from Saturday through Friday. The position is anticipated to close on March 1, 2025, or until filled.
Minimum Qualifications:Essential Duties:
- Monitor equipment inventory, clean, and organize equipment.
- Assist faculty with EMS skill demonstrations.
- Create a supportive learning environment.
- Serve as a positive role model and encourage student involvement.
- Assist with course materials and supplies.
- Provide individual oversight for skills remediation.
- Work under the guidance of the Lead EMS Instructor and supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision: Reports to the Lead EMS Instructor or designated supervisor. Usually works independently but seeks guidance when needed.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
Special
Conditions:
Background check and adherence to safety and compliance policies are required. Travel, evening, and weekend work may be necessary.
Working Conditions: Requires sitting, standing, walking, driving, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to perform in various environmental conditions and high-stress situations, including the ability to lift up to 125 pounds with assistance, interpret instructions, and communicate effectively.
Must be able to operate emergency vehicles and perform manual tasks related to patient care.
