IT Field Technician (On-Site) Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable IT Field Technician to provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, and peripheral devices such as printers and scanners. The technician will assist with maintaining LAN and WAN environments, diagnosing connectivity issues, and ensuring optimal network performance.
Responsibilities- Deliver technical support to end-users across hardware, software, and network platforms.
- Resolve hardware and software problems, documenting service actions and IT inventory.
- Support IT security by applying updates, configuring firewalls, and ensuring antivirus protection.
- Train users on basic IT procedures.
- Manage equipment inventory and install structured cabling.
- Conduct scheduled or emergency on-site visits and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and maintain service level agreements.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking is essential. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common hardware and software problems. Logical thinking and problem-solving skills are crucial.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks, especially when responding to multiple service requests.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, DHCP, and DNS.
- All positions require successful completion of a criminal background check; further checks if the position involves access to sensitive information or secure facilities.
- Position requires travel to different locations, requiring a valid driver’s license, intermittent DMV checks, and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Applicants must pass a CJIS fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Disqualifiers include felony convictions, specific misdemeanor convictions, and other specified offenses.

$55,000 to $75,000 annually (eligible for overtime pay)
