Responsibilities
  • Collect catch and effort data from recreational fisheries on the lower Columbia River.
  • Collect information on commercial fisheries.
  • Participate in commercial fishery monitoring, test fishing, hatchery sampling, coded-wire tag recovery, and tagging projects.

This position requires a Boater Education Certificate obtained through the Oregon State Marine Board within the first 30 days of appointment.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum qualifications are not established for this position; however, we are seeking applicants with the following experience or skills. Preference for interviews may be given to candidates with these skills and background:

  • Experience collecting and recording data.
  • Experience collecting biological samples.
  • Experience identifying adult fish species, particularly salmonids.
  • Field survey experience.
  • Boating experience.
  • Anyone who has or is in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological/ecological sciences.
