Medical Assistant – Amberwell Health

The Medical Assistant (MA) collaborates with providers and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive clinical services at Amberwell clinics.

• Obtains, verifies, and records patient health history.
• Gathers health data through physical assessments and biological samples.
• Collects specimens using proper technique; performs point‑of‑care testing; documents assessments, interventions, medications, and test results.
• Assists health care professionals in exams, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
• Ensures accurate charting for quality reporting and data extraction.
• Coordinates and manages patient care; follows up on testing, referrals, and prior authorizations; acts as patient advocate.
• Promotes wellness through preventive care, chronic care management, patient education, and provider communication.
• Schedules and communicates referrals to specialists and services ordered by providers.

• Experience:
  
  Minimum required – Ability to multi‑task, good organization skills, effective communication;
  Preferred – 1–2 year clinic experience.
• Education:
  
  Minimum required – Completion of an accredited Clinical Medical Assistant Program.
• Licenses:
  None required.

• Minimum required – BLS Certification, First Aid Certification.
• Preferred – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
