Athletic Trainer, OHS – Role at Amberwell Health
- Athletic trainer will be trained to perform strength testing for post‑offer purposes, breath alcohol, drug screen collections, audiometer, respirator fit testing, and spirometry testing.
- The athletic trainer will assist in the flow of the clinic by greeting customers, answering phones, and communicating with patients and employers.
- Certified and perform urine collection and breath alcohol testing for both DOT and non‑DOT standards.
- Will be knowledgeable of the post‑offer physical process and will play a significant role in the testing of the patient.
- Will provide medical assistance to the physician during workers’ compensation care and sports medicine patients.
- Will document services and complete documentation daily so charges can flow within the EMR system.
- The technician will maintain knowledge of the needs and customer satisfaction of the companies contracted for services.
- The athletic trainer will perform patient education as directed by the physician, including crutch training, splint application, and brace application.
- The athletic trainer will assist in donning and doffing casting applications.
- The position also requires assisting the physician in performing in‑office procedures including, but not limited to, joint injections, draining of fluid, and ultrasound guidance.
