Courier

Position profile:
Ensures customers' satisfaction by making pick-ups and deliveries in a proficient and timely manner. This position reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration.

• Delivers messages, telegrams, documents, packages, and other items to business establishments, and by performing the following duties
• Travels to delivery site on foot or by bicycle, automobile or public conveyance
• Keeps log of items received and delivered
• Obtains receipts for articles delivered
• Follows appropriate chain of custody protocols (e.g., TRAC)
• Maintains vehicle by checking fluids and replenishing fuel
• Performs pick-up and delivery of jobs by accurately following a map and/or written instructions
• Follows Ricoh Service Excellence performance requirements
• Maintains compliance with state and company standards by operating a vehicle safely and legally and following company guidelines in the event of an accident or injury
• Responds to client requests, ensuring accuracy of orders taken and timely delivery of completed orders with proper paperwork
• Presents a professional appearance to clients by dressing in professional attire according to company standards
• Maintains routine vehicle maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) according to company specifications
• Meets company attendance standards by reporting to work punctually and working all scheduled hours and any required overtime
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Able to work independently, making sound decisions with the needs of the customer and the business in mind

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Requires valid state driver’s license and driving record that meets company standards
• Experience with electronic communication devices and in a team environment
• Technical ability (computers, email, basics, TRAC)

• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to read maps, follow written instructions and complete paperwork accurately
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Competency in performing multiple tasks
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs
• Critical thinking and decision-making skills

• Couriers spend most of their time alone delivering; those on bicycle are exposed to weather, traffic hazards. Car/van/truck couriers may carry heavy loads
• Possible difficult parking situations, traffic jams, and road construction
• Office environment with typical lighting, ventilation, temperature and noise based on location
• Work may involve walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs
• Moderate dexterity; regular use of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, etc.)
