Athabasca University is currently accepting applications for Summer Student positions for the 2026 season. Applicants must reside within Athabasca County to be eligible for these positions.

First Cohort – Post-Secondary Students
Employment Term: April 27, 2026 – August 28, 2026
Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (college, university, or technical institute)
Ideal for: Students seeking meaningful work experience in areas such as administration, facilities, IT support, student services, communications, or other university operations
Second Cohort – High School Students
Employment Term: July 6, 2026 – August 28, 2026
Eligibility: High school students who are legally eligible to work
Ideal for: Students interested in gaining their first work experience and developing foundational workplace skills
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily tasks and projects within your assigned department
Collaborate with team members to support ongoing initiatives
Participate in training opportunities
Contribute to a positive and productive work environment
Specific duties will vary depending on departmental assignment.
Qualifications:
16+ years old and residing within Athabasca County
Responsible and dependable
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enthusiasm for learning
Able to commute to the University Campus
Ability to meet the physical requirement of the position, where applicable
