Cybersecurity Risk Analyst University

Athabasca University seeks a full-time Cybersecurity Risk Analyst to bolster its Digital Security Programs. Collaborate closely with IT, compliance, and risk management teams to identify and report on cybersecurity risks.

In this permanent role, you'll support the Chief Information Security Officer and the Digital Security team. Your primary responsibilities include maintaining the cybersecurity risk register, developing policies, and managing security tools. A key aspect of your work will involve creating indicators that reflect adherence to AU’s policy framework while effectively managing cybersecurity threats within regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Digital Security Programs by identifying cybersecurity risks

• Maintain and update the cybersecurity risk register

• Collaborate with IT and compliance teams for risk management

• Develop and administer cybersecurity policies and tools

• Create risk indicators showing policy adherence

Requirements:

• 5+ years in IT risk or cybersecurity risk management

• Degree or diploma in computer science or relevant field

• Preferred certifications: AWS Security Specialty, CISM, CISSP

• Strong communication skills for diverse stakeholders

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks like ISO 27001
