Department: Shop
Essential Job Functions:- Use diagnostic tools, computers, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform complex repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks, including engine repair, brake systems, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose issues with advanced vehicle systems such as electrical, fuel, exhaust, HVAC, and emissions systems.
- Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs, inspections, parts usage, and any warranty issues.
- Work alongside other technicians and shop staff to prioritize repair tasks and provide support for complex issues.
- Provide training and mentorship to lower-level technicians to help develop their skills and improve shop efficiency.
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co‑workers at all times
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
- Must have your own tools
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in truck and heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance, including extensive hands‑on experience with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
- Expertise in the repair and maintenance of diesel engines, braking systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards
- Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge preferred, but not required
- Ability to obtain FBI Badge preferred, but not required
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen
