Department: Shop

• Use diagnostic tools, computers, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform complex repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks, including engine repair, brake systems, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose issues with advanced vehicle systems such as electrical, fuel, exhaust, HVAC, and emissions systems.
• Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs, inspections, parts usage, and any warranty issues.
• Work alongside other technicians and shop staff to prioritize repair tasks and provide support for complex issues.
• Provide training and mentorship to lower-level technicians to help develop their skills and improve shop efficiency.
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co‑workers at all times
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

• Must have your own tools
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in truck and heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance, including extensive hands‑on experience with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
• Expertise in the repair and maintenance of diesel engines, braking systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge preferred, but not required
• Ability to obtain FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen
