Part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants and 565 undergraduate student workers.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis at the University of Georgia when classes are in session.
• Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
• Student employees are considered temporary employees.
• May not exceed 20 hours of work per week across all student staff positions.
• May not exceed 6 consecutive hours of work per shift.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 8 hours of desk shifts per week.
• Required to work during some home football games as required by your assigned community.

Duties/Responsibilities

Follow appropriate community desk policies and procedures.

Follow appropriate protocols in addressing incidents and potential policy violations.

Provide exemplary customer service to all residents, guests, visitors, faculty and staff.

Function as a resource for accurate information concerning Housing and university operations.

Support the community office staff by performing assigned administrative responsibilities.

Support, communicate, enforce and abide by all university and department policies, procedures and regulations.

Assist community office staff during a crisis or emergency.

Assist in the opening, closing and transition of residence halls.

Participate in all departmental and community training.

Participate in all meeting activities.

Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned.

Position Summary

This position serves as an additional line of security and source of information for residents and guests at community desks through the late-night hours.
