Position Summary

This position is essential to supporting the daily operations of the faculty and staff based at UGA’s Tifton Campus. Under the supervision of the Senior Business Manager, this position provides comprehensive administrative and fiscal support to faculty and staff located on UGA’s Tifton Campus. The role serves as the primary point of contact for visitors, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, customer service, and timely access to information and services.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of administrative experience in a higher education or university setting

• A strong understanding of office procedures and student services processes

• Experience with “Reconcile” and data management systems

• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written

Duties/Responsibilities (85%)
  • Provide administrative support for faculty and staff members.
  • Process purchase orders, check requests, 4-H charges, and travel expense statements.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, greet visitors, and serve as the unit’s primary point of contact.
  • Maintain digital records.
  • Review payroll for accuracy and process on a bi‑weekly/monthly basis.
  • Report mileage on departmental vehicles to satisfy vehicle reporting requirements.
  • Complete and submit state equipment inventories.
  • Assist Business Managers as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities (10%)
  • Maintain personnel databases and update listservs as employees are hired or terminated.
  • Serve as departmental P‑Card holder: submit pre‑approvals, complete purchase transactions, reconcile monthly statements, and upload to Procurement.
Duties/Responsibilities (5%)
  • Assist faculty and Senior Business Manager with special projects, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
