Legal Assistant - Personal Injury (On-site)
Join Farah & Farah Personal Injury Lawyers as a Pre‑Suit Legal Assistant in our Pre‑Litigation team. This role supports case managers and attorneys from case intake through demand and resolution, requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication.
Responsibilities- Assist case managers and attorneys in gathering and organizing case‑related documents, including medical records, police reports, and witness statements.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date case files, both physical and electronic.
- Prepare correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents as directed.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in‑person meetings to provide updates, gather documentation, and answer inquiries.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate communication between clients and case managers/attorneys.
- Request, review, and summarize medical records and bills; coordinate with providers for additional information.
- Manage multiple schedules, provide timely reminders, and facilitate meeting logistics.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and faxes; maintain contact information databases.
- Type and file legal documents and correspondence; provide general administrative support to the pre‑litigation team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role, preferably in personal injury law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Assisted by an in‑office onsite position located at a Farah & Farah office.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and walk for moderate periods to retrieve and deliver documents.
- Manual dexterity for computer work, document handling, and phone use.
- Clear vision and hearing for communication and document review.
- Occasional light lifting (up to 20 pounds).
