Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

The County Extension Administrative Assistant is responsible for a variety of general office tasks. Work includes standardized duties with judgment based on experience. May coordinate functions with Extension staff and/or program assistants. Administrative Assistants work cooperatively with all agents and report to the County Extension Coordinator and District Extension Director.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of business grammar and punctuation, office procedures and systems, and current effective office practices.
  • Operates office equipment (computer, fax, scanner, typewriter, mimeograph, copier, telephone).
  • Proficient in word processing, data management and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Maintains professional conduct in public interactions and possesses personal skills for effective public relations.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with county, district and state staff, local government employees and clientele.

  • Driving as needed to perform job duties.
